Visa agencies and immigration advisers in Glasgow
8 agencies, each checked against its own website on 3 Nov 2026; advisers looked up in the IAA register
Glasgow has 8 visa agencies and immigration advisers on our list; 4 of the 5 advisers we looked up are on the IAA register (its list of 9 Jul 2026). All 8 name UK visas and immigration on their own websites. On the official pages we read, VFS Global takes visa applications in Glasgow for India; before you pay anyone, read how to choose a visa agency and spot a scam.
Our list, not an endorsement. Listing is free, and nobody can pay for a place in it. Order: most verified first: we count up to six things we could confirm about each agency, a licence in the official register among them, and break ties A–Z. The count shows how much we could verify, not how good an agency is. Online services sit in their own box above the list.

We didn't look it up in the IAA register: Scottish solicitors firm (refers to the Law Society of Scotland transparency guidance); solicitors are regulated by their professional body, not registered with the IAA. The site names no regulator number on the pages read. So this check doesn't count for it.

Which visa agency or immigration adviser is best in Glasgow? How to compare
We don't rank them. For UK visas the law is strict. The Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (section 84) says no one may provide immigration advice or immigration services unless they are a 'qualified person' (legislation.gov.uk, read 1 Nov 2026). Qualified persons are people registered with the IAA, people authorised by a designated professional body (such as a law society) or by a designated qualifying regulator, and people working under their supervision (legislation.gov.uk, read 1 Nov 2026). Giving immigration advice or services without being qualified is a criminal offence; on indictment it carries up to two years in prison, a fine, or both (legislation.gov.uk, read 1 Nov 2026). We looked up the 5 advisers on this page in the IAA's published list of registered organisations, which shows the register on 9 Jul 2026; 4 of them are on it, and each listing shows the IAA number.
- Registered with the IAA, at the right levelIAA advisers are registered at one of three levels, and only a Level 3 adviser can represent you at an immigration tribunal (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). Check an organisation or adviser by name or IAA number in the IAA Adviser Register (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026).
- Solicitors: their own regulatorSolicitors and barristers are not licensed by the IAA, because their own professional bodies already regulate them (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). Solicitors who give immigration advice can be found through the Law Society (England and Wales), the Law Society of Scotland and the Law Society of Northern Ireland (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026).
- A fee letter and receiptsA regulated adviser must send you a letter right after you hire them saying what work they will do, what it will cost and how you will pay; always get a signed, dated receipt for any payment (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026).
- No promise of successAn adviser claiming you will be successful is one of the grounds for a complaint to the IAA, alongside unreasonable fees and charging for work not done (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). Be suspicious of anyone who guarantees you a UK visa using documents they supply (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026).
- No personal bank accountsFake agents may promise to speed up a visa and ask for payment into a personal bank account (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). The Home Office never asks for visa payments by email, at a visa application centre or into a personal bank account; fees are paid online on GOV.UK and its commercial partners' websites (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026).
What Glasgow's visa agencies and advisers handle
The destinations each one names on its own website, and how many of the 8 on this page name each one. “UK visas and immigration” means help for people coming to the UK; the rest prepare visas for trips abroad.
- UK visas and immigration: all 8 Chase Immigration · Compass Immigration Services · GB Visa & Immigration Services · Johnson Mackenzie Immigration Ltd. · Farhan & Co Solicitors · Imtiaz & Co Solicitors · JRI Law · UK Visa Assistance
- Australia: 1 of 8 Johnson Mackenzie Immigration Ltd.
- Canada: 1 of 8 Johnson Mackenzie Immigration Ltd.
Farhan & Co Solicitors, Imtiaz & Co Solicitors and JRI Law are solicitors' firms, regulated by their own professional body, so we didn't look them up in the IAA register.
Official alternatives: when you don't need an agency
For a UK visa you apply online yourself, with or without an adviser. The Home Office never asks for visa payments by email, at a visa application centre or into a personal bank account; fees are paid online on GOV.UK and its commercial partners' websites (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). Even advisers who charge nothing leave you to pay expenses such as translations and the official application fees (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). For a visa to another country you apply at its visa centre, consulate or embassy; these are the ones in Glasgow we could confirm on official pages.

FAQ
How much do agents charge for a UK visa?
Each adviser or agency sets its own fee, and we haven't collected UK prices. A regulated adviser must send you a letter right after you hire them saying what work they will do, what it will cost and how you will pay; always get a signed, dated receipt for any payment (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). Even advisers who charge nothing leave you to pay expenses such as translations and the official application fees (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026).
Can an agent help you get a visa?
Yes, within limits. For UK visas only qualified people may give immigration advice: IAA-registered advisers, people authorised by a professional body such as a law society, and those working under their supervision (legislation.gov.uk, read 1 Nov 2026). Be suspicious of anyone who guarantees you a UK visa using documents they supply (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). For other countries' visas, an agency prepares the file and the destination's embassy or consulate decides.
Which agency is best for a work visa?
We don't rank them. Advice on a UK work visa has to come from a qualified person: an IAA-registered adviser or a solicitor. Level 1 advisers handle simple cases and can advise on entry clearance, leave to enter, leave to remain, nationality and citizenship, and EU and EEA law (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). A genuine UK employer never asks for payment to secure a visa, and UKVI never guarantees a job (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026).
What is the IAA?
The regulator was called the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) until it rebranded as the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) in January 2025 (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). The IAA is the government body that makes sure immigration advice is given only by suitably qualified organisations and individuals (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). The IAA does not give immigration advice and does not recommend or endorse any particular adviser (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026).
How do I check an immigration adviser in Glasgow?
The IAA Adviser Register lets anyone check an organisation or individual by name or IAA registration number; a match shows the name, IAA reference number, level of authorisation and website (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). The Adviser Finder searches by location and shows only organisations that chose to be included in it (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). GOV.UK publishes a list of immigration advisers who are currently banned from giving immigration advice or suspended (GOV.UK, read 1 Nov 2026). We checked the Glasgow advisers against the IAA's published list of 9 Jul 2026; the live IAA Adviser Register shows any change since.
Which immigration advisers in Glasgow are on the IAA register?
4 of the 8 are in the IAA's published list of registered organisations, as we found them on 1 Nov 2026: Chase Immigration, Compass Immigration Services, GB Visa & Immigration Services and Johnson Mackenzie Immigration Ltd.. Farhan & Co Solicitors, Imtiaz & Co Solicitors and JRI Law: solicitors' firms, regulated by their own professional body rather than the IAA. For UK Visa Assistance we couldn't confirm a match: the listing says “not yet confirmed in the register”, which is not a finding against it. Each listing shows what we found, with a link to the register entry where there is one.
How we checked. We opened each agency's own website on 3 Nov 2026 and took its name, address, phone and the visas it lists from there; each profile links to the pages we used. We looked up the advisers in the IAA's published list of registered organisations (position at 9 Jul 2026) on 1 Nov 2026, by name and website, because the live register runs only in a browser; a registration granted or ended after that date shows only in the next list. Where we couldn't confirm one, the listing says “not yet confirmed in the register”. Solicitors' firms and agencies that list no UK immigration services weren't looked up. We haven't collected UK prices yet. Something wrong? Report a change.
